Expansion plans on fast forward

The Heron Partnership today announced the opening of its Sydney Office and the engagement of a senior actuary based in Sydney.

Heron Managing Director, Christopher Butler said "In accordance with our Business Plan we always intended to have a presence on the ground in Sydney. However, it has happened earlier than expected. The market response we have received in Melbourne has been fantastic and this has prompted us to bring forward our move to NSW."

David Quinn-Watson, a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries of Australia has been engaged as Senior Actuary and Client Director for NSW.

David is a Consulting Actuary with 27 years' experience in the financial services industry. He brings expertise in a broad range of practice areas to the Heron Partnership including superannuation, employee benefits, investments, life insurance, and financial risk management. During his career, he has held positions as a consultant, manager and senior team leader with major life offices and consultancy firms, most recently as a General Manager. David has also been operating his own consulting business since 1999.

David has extensive strategic and technical consulting experience and has provided advice to numerous medium to large corporations, financial institutions and superannuation providers.

Mr Butler said "At The Heron Partnership, David will principally be involved in providing strategic, technical and actuarial advice to our clients and gives us an excellent starting position for our business in Sydney"

"I am very impressed about The Heron Partnershipâ??s stance on providing independent advice and its focus on client outcomes and I look forward to building Heronâ??s business in NSW." David said.

The Heron Partnership is an independent consultancy to Australiaâ??s superannuation industry. It was launched in July 2002 and challenges existing consultancy practices through providing an alternative of independent advice, low fees and greater accountability for implementation and outcomes. The Heron Partnership is based in Melbourne.
